This is a list of media commentators and writers in the United Kingdom on the sport of Association football. A number of football players have had a second career as writers or commentators. However, many commentators never played the game at a professional level such as Dale Rowlinson and Gaz Mallachan, yet they have gone on to become famous names associated with the game.
English Football League. All televised EFL games are broadcast on Sky Sports, with two games (usually Championship) per weekend broadcast at 20:00 on a Friday and 12:30 on a Saturday. Other games may be additionally scheduled at different times, such as 17:30 on Saturday, 12:00 on Sunday or, very occasionally, 20:00 on a Monday.

The play-offs were introduced to the English Football League in 1987 and have been staged at the conclusion of every season since. The first three play-off seasons saw the finals also being conducted over two legs, on a home-and-away basis.
