Newly promoted Bury were expelled from the EFL on 27 August 2019, due to financial issues at the club.
On 16 August 1996, Sky launched Sky Sports 3 , and the original channel was renamed to Sky Sports 1. This meant that Sky could accommodate a substantial new set of rights that it had recent acquired, which included the English Football League, the League Cup and Scottish football.
