Soccer Saturday grew out of Sports Saturday, which started in August 1992 and was hosted by Paul Dempsey and Sue Barker. [1] Sports Saturday was similar in format to the BBC's Grandstand programme featuring a variety of sports and as with Grandstand, the programme finished with news of the day's football in a segment called Scorelines. BT Sport Score is a weekly television programme which was broadcast between 2016 and 2023, on BT Sport, during the football season. The programme updated viewers on the progress of football games in the United Kingdom on Saturday afternoons, and aired between 2:45pm and just after 5pm. BT Sport Score was hosted by Darrell Currie and Jules Breach.
BT Sport Score ended at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season [13] and its replacement, TNT Sports, does not show a football scores programme and therefore does not air an on-screen vidiprinter. Sky News use a vidiprinter as part of their election coverage to display recent declarations from constituencies, with the results being coloured in the colour of the winning party.
